Our ideal candidate should have:

  • Exceptional level design skills, with the ability to create both simple and complex puzzle levels that feel intentional, purposeful, and emotionally tuned.
  • Strong logical and spatial reasoning — able to articulate why a level works (or doesn’t) and how it contributes to the overall player experience.
  • Experience working with difficulty curves, pacing, and level placement — not just making levels, but knowing how to arrange them for maximum retention, engagement, and emotional rhythm.
  • Solid analytical mindset — capable of interpreting player data, level drop-off charts, and behavioral funnels to drive design decisions.
  • Understanding of game economy and balance principles, especially in F2P puzzle games.
  • Experience designing for puzzle games [word, logic, block-based, merge, meta-puzzles — not just Match‑3].
  • Ability to build hypotheses and test them using live data — this is not about “artistic feeling”, but measurable player impact.
  • Comfortable owning a process — from setting design standards, to maintaining difficulty benchmarks, to participating in content roadmap planning.
  • Some experience in production, leadership, or team operations is a strong plus — this person will partner closely with producers and content leads.
  • Autonomy, ownership, and self-direction — able to zoom in and out between pixel-level detail and big-picture systems.
  • English and Ukrainian is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, review, and iterate on puzzle levels across multiple games and genres, ensuring high quality, appropriate challenge, and alignment with product goals.
  • Own the difficulty curve and level progression strategy — define how challenge ramps over time and how levels are placed to maximize engagement, retention, and player satisfaction.
  • Analyze player behavior and performance metrics
  • Establish and maintain internal level design guidelines and standards, including documentation, review checklists, and difficulty scoring systems.
  • Mentor and support other level designers, offering feedback, guidance, and systems-level thinking to help them grow and align with the overall vision.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and team scaling.
  • Partner with analysts and game designers.
  • Work across multiple games as a domain expert and “guardian of structure,” advising on level placement and pacing even in games where others build the content.
  • Champion a player-first, data-informed approach to level design, balancing intuition with evidence.

What we offer:

  • 100% payment of vacations and sick leave [20 days vacation, 22 days sick leave], medical insurance.
  • A team of the best professionals in the games industry.
  • Flexible schedule [start of work from 8 to 11, 8 hours/day].
  • L&D center with courses.
  • Self-learning library, access to paid courses.
  • We provide the necessary hardware for work.
